We stand with the women of Ukraine. How to help this International Women's Day

We stand with Ukraine
Our thoughts are with the women of Ukraine this International Women’s Day. We are deeply distressed by the unfolding crisis and want to take today to focus on how we can help. Aligne have set up several initiatives including donating new and used women’s clothing to Ukrainian Aid donation centres. We are continuing to raise funds and awareness to help the women and people of Ukraine and want to share with you how you can help too, however big or small.
Make a monetary donation
Aligne are supporting UK Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), so you can now donate directly through the Aligne website. Alternatively, charities including the British Red Cross, Choose Love and UNICEF are among the NGOs taking donations for their emergency crisis appeals. Please only donate to trusted charities.
Donate personal items
Countless organisations across London and the UK are accepting donations of clothing, toiletries, and other essential items that Ukrainian civilians and refugees have been forced to leave behind. If you are able to donate any items, you can do so at the following locations.
- The White Eagle Club, South London
- The Polish Club, Southampton
- TippyToes BabyBank, Lancashire
- Agie and Katie, Stoke-on-Trent
- The Co-op, Banff, Aberdeenshire
Sign a petition or write to your MP
Visa requirements have now been relaxed to allow immediate Ukrainian family members to enter the UK , but there is still more that can be done. Campaign groups are encouraging UK citizens to send an email to their MPs urging them to support Ukraine and push for more sanctions.
You can find your MPs contact details here.
Alternatively, petitions supporting Ukraine are a pro-active way to show your support and encourage change. Refugees Welcome is The Independent’s petition calling for the UK to lead the international community in helping those who have been forced to leave their homes.
