How To Build Your High Summer Wardrobe

Slow fashion summer without compromise. Sweeping your entire closet clean to make room for newbies is not planet-friendly or fun, especially when you know deep down you'd much rather be outside topping up your tan. At Aligne, we all have summer staples we swear by, but that doesn't mean we don't make a few sleeveless, shoulder-less and backless additions to our collections.
Here's how we're injecting high summer energy into our wardrobes...
1. The Cross Back Top
Did somebody say tan lines? Our Dani top is the versatile staple that has alfresco evenings, boozy brunches and afternoon teas covered (from the front only!) Show a bit of mid drift by pairing her with our Carrie high waist short - and SPF50 because burnt shoulders are not chic.
2. The LBD
Perfect for swishing down vineyards (or escalators) in. The figure skimming Calonie dress is heat-friendly courtesy of linen - the most breathable fabric in existence. It's also 100% organic because we love soil and hate what pesticides do to it.
3. The Off Shoulder
We can't get enough of checkerboards, ginghams and grids, and the little squares trend is most definitely here to stay. The Curdah dress thinks your shoulders need some attention, and we do too. Style her with you favourite sandals or slides for a Sunday stroll.

4. The Cooling Down Co-ord
Step out of the pool and into the nearest bar with the airy Demi top/ Cat trouser duo that doubles up perfectly as a bikini coverup. Go all black, all white or mix and match depending on your mood.
5. The Smocked skirt
The miniskirt has just been given a cute, ruffle update with prints to compliment the sun. Your legs will never want to see a pair of sweatpants again.

6. Orange wine
Not for the wardrobe, but still a staple by our standards. A refreshing break from rosé and about as summery as wine gets. We love Shop Cuvée for their biodynamic (and hangover free) selections.
