What the Fashion Editors are gifting this Christmas

What does a fashion editor really want for Christmas? With sat down with the leading editors from the biggest fashion publications to find out just what they giving and getting for Christmas this year.

From recycled cashmere and deadstock outwear to clever basics and classic denim, here's what the fashion editors are gifting their loved ones (and themselves) this Christmas.

Molly Haylor, Style Director at Grazia

What I'm buying myself:

"The Erma Blazer - it’s sensible at the front party at the back. I absolutely hate having to change for events if I’m already out and about and this blazer is, in my eyes, the ultimate party stopper that I’ll continue to wear all year long."

"For someone who is notoriously tricky to buy for (aka me), I highly recommend the Esmeralda Trench. I’m 5’10 and it’s the perfect length to wear both with trainers and heels. It’s the perfect throw-on-throw-off coat, for an effortless look and as a bonus, it comes with deep front pockets for your mask phone and other bits you need on the go."

Lila Flint Roberts, Assistant Fashion Producer at ITV

What I'm buying myself:

"When gifting (or self-gifting) you don’t have to pick a statement item. That’s why I believe the Eleanor Turtleneck is the perfect piece. Think about buying something of good quality that will work hard in the receivers wardrobe. I chose the cornflower blue top because it’s the perfect layering piece and is season-less: I can wear it as a base in the winter and with a pair of denim shorts come summer."

What I'm buying my sister, Lily:

"I chose the Elodie Puffer for my sister, Lily because it’s the perfect way to finish any outfit in the winter -  the epitome of a “throw on and go” garment that’ll make any outfit look well put together. It’s chic, planet-friendly and super warm; perfect for winter walks in the countryside"

What I'm buying my sister, Mari:

"The Carlotta Jeans. She is very well dressed but is yet to find a cool and comfortable alternative to skinny jeans. When choosing these wide legs for her, I imagined them being worn with a lovely coloured knit and a biker boot. The stone colour of this pair will go with nearly everything she already owns, meaning she can pick from the items already in her wardrobe."

What I'm buying my Mum:

When shopping for clothes, my Mum's main requirement is warmth and comfort, so the Beda Sweatpants were a no-brainer. Elasticated waistband, multiple pockets and gorgeous cotton? You had me at hello!

Penny Goldstone, Contributing Fashion Editor at Marie Claire

What I'm buying my friend, Sally:

"The Evangeline Coat for my friend Sally is the perfect smart coat for her return to the office - in fact, I loved it so much that I decided to pick it up for myself too."

What I'm buying my sister:

"She’s an artist and spends a lot of time in a cold studio so I through the Caius Culottes would be a perfect way for her to keep warm whilst looking stylish."

What I'm buying my friend, Amanda:

"The Erika Cream Teddy Jacket for my friend Amanda. She’s a new mum and often goes on walks with her pram, so I thought this would make a great cosy alternative to a traditional winter jacket."

Joy Montgomery, Shopping Editor at Who What Wear

What I'm buying myself:

"I’m not very good at investing in basics, but recently I’ve been on the lookout for a simple black body to wear with my vintage black mini skirt and knee-high boots. Luckily, the Elliott Turtleneck Body ticks all the boxes with its minimalist cut and subtle turtleneck. Basics needn’t be boring after all"

What I'm buying my friend, Hannah:

"I am fully invested in the puffer trend this season - after all, who doesn’t love a trend that is both stylish and practical? I’ll get the Elodie Coat for my friend Hannah who is always out and about visiting people for her job and could do with some chic insulation during the cold months."

What I'm buying my friend, Geni:

"My friend Geni instantly fell in love with the Evangeline Coat the moment I showed her a picture of me trying it on for a WhoWhatWear story. She has two little kids and heads-up a charity so needs something she can throw-on at a moment’s notice and look polished. Plus, I think this rust colour would look amazing on her!"

Ginnie Chadwyck Healey, Columnist at The Telegraph

What I'm buying myself:

"The Eva Top is my kind of easy come, easy go style. It can be elevated and tucked in with wide leg trousers or worn with my favourite wide leg jeans and high tops."

What I'm buying my mum:

"The Evie Liner for my mum, although she will maintain that she ‘couldn’t possibly wear that’ but will, after one try, and never take it off. The perfect winter house coat that also double as a cool layer for nipping to the shops in, or for meeting up with friends."

What I'm buying for my sister-in-law, Alice:

"The Evelyn Vest for my sister-in-law who still hasn’t realised the game changer that is the tank top - and who always complains about the cold. Alice, I’ll bring you...layering!"
